“If you say so,” She said with a smile. “We have a mutual friend who told me that you are very good at solving problems.” She was talking about Sharky; he's the one who had referred her to me and set up this meeting. He'd been uncommonly reticent about what sort of problem she might need solved though, and the meeting time had been set with a sense of urgency, which put me a bit on edge. Generally the less willing a contact like Sharky said about a job the more dangerous, or illegal, it would happen to be, and rush jobs were always dicey.
